Wales Ecology & Evolution Network returns for its 5th annual meeting in 2018
WEEN is a student-led conference which promotes postgraduate research and creates a networking platform for early-career researchers at the largest universities in Wales. This year we are hoping to make WEEN bigger and better than ever, with students invited to join us from University of South Wales and University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
For WEEN18 we will be returning to the Centre for Alternative Technology (Powys, Mid Wales), this year with slightly later dates of 23rd-25th November. The conference will provide the opportunity for students to share their research in poster sessions and 15 minute talks, as well mixing with postgraduate students from across Wales in a fun and informal networking opportunity. As always, under our broad remit of ‘ecology and evolution’, students from a wide variety of subject areas are invited to present their work, allowing us to share ideas from a diverse range of fields.
This year, we are excited to announce two key note speakers: Dr. Niall McCann (currently with National Park Rescue) and Dr. Daniel Forman (Swansea University).
The registration fee covers weekend meals (vegetarian) and accommodation in the Centre for Alternative Technology. There are two types of accommodation available this year: WISE twin ensuite rooms (£50) and Self-build facility (£30). Please register using the link below and if you have any questions about the different types of accommodation just ask one the PostGrad reps. Attendance costs are subsidised by our kind sponsors, including the four main universities involved and the Genetics Society.
